Dear Supporters,
With only nine days to go until the huge Alex Horne Comedy Match at The Meadow we are in need of lots of helpers and volunteers to get the ground into fantastic shape befitting of the occasion.
Health and Safety regulations have dictated that we need an additional emergency exit which is being created at the far end of the ground with the digging out of concrete and installation of a ramp towards the exit. Before the concrete arrives we will also need to fill the base with dug out concrete and hardcore. To get everything ready we need your help.
We are looking for volunteers with brooms, even better a snow shovel, wheelbarrows and hoes. The terraces also need weeding. In the last 24 hours they have been heavily sprayed with weedkiller and we now need to get them cleaned up and wheelbarrowed away from the ground, along with other rubbish, as soon as possible.
Additionally, the toilets have been painstakingly power-washed and are due to be repainted over the weekend. Please, this is one of the occasions where I urge you not to just assume someone else will step forward and do it.
The more volunteers we have the quicker it will be and the better job we can do. It’s been a fantastic season, let’s make sure we show off our ground in its best possible light when we welcome hundreds of new visitors for this game. Please contact me at chairman@cheshamunited.co.uk
