Ahead of this weekend’s trip to Farnborough, the Board of Chesham United are keen to keep supporters updated with the ongoing situation and process of appointing a new manager.

Finance Director Peter Brown revealed that the club has been inundated with in excess of thirty high quality applications for the post of First Team manager, which shows how highly valued the job is in the football world. The Board are currently creating a shortlist from the applications with a view to starting interviewing early next week.

“Following various rumours and mis-information, we think it is important to make clear that the football playing budget will not be changing for the next two weeks whilst we are making the appointment, and this will allow us to maintain the continuity with the current squad whilst the new manager gets his feet under the table and agrees the playing budget with the Board for the remainder of the season.

We are very grateful to Mark Swales and Scott McGleish who will once again be in charge of the team for tomorrow’s match and until such time as a new permanent manager is in place. Staying in the Premier Division is of paramount importance to the club as part of our ongoing plans for the future and we are determined to get the right person for the job of starting to gain the points needed to move away from the bottom of the table. As always, we thank supporters for your patience and understanding, and we look forwarding to making a positive announcement very soon.”
