A further thank you from the Board is due for the over-whelming support and words of kindness we have been receiving from supporters, businesses and the community as a whole over these past few weeks. It is important that we all stay in touch and it is pleasing to hear the comments of appreciation regarding the updates we try to send out from the boardroom, and I will now look to do this on a weekly basis – we might not be having any matchday programmes to write in at the moment, but that doesn’t mean that we cannot maintain a regular Chairman’s update.

One of the summer jobs that has been business as usual is sourcing a new first team kit, and as a result we are now in a position to be able to offer a limited number (for obvious reasons!) of last season’s first team shirts, straight from the dressing room with squad numbers on the back. To help club funds we will be looking to sell these to a good home. We would like to give first option to the supporters that sponsored players for the 2019/20 season, then on a first come first served basis – And we will even make sure they have been properly washed!

If you are a kit sponsor and would like to purchase ones of these shirts for £20, plus postage, or we can arrange for it to be left for you to collect safely from the club, please contact me this week and we will give you priority, after Monday 15th June we will open up the offer to all supporters. To reserve your shirt, simply email me at chairman@cheshamunited.co.uk stating which shirt number you would like to buy.

Elsewhere around the club supporters have continued to help out with painting and clearing around the ground, and one advantage of knowing that the season at our level is definitely over, is that it means that Craig is able to get on with preparing the pitch for when football does return – despite the lack of rain last month, he is doing an excellent job of maintaining our reputation of having one of the best pitches in the league.

We still want to get to a position where we can properly celebrate the end of the last campaign with some form of End of Season bash, albeit likely to be under very different circumstances with social-distancing in place. I know the clubhouse team have been working hard to look at all of our options as to how we might safely be able to open up The Chess Suite in some form or another once we get the nod from the government that we are permitted to do so.

Stay safe, stay well, and remember if you have any questions, suggestions, ideas or if you would like to get involved with the club, you can contact me directly at chairman@cheshamunited.co.uk
