This week we were pleased to be able to launch our season tickets for the 2021/22 season and I just wanted to thank you all for being simply the best supporters we could possibly have asked for. Within an hour of launch we had our first season tickets booked, shortly followed by the second one – a renewal from last season with the supporter donating the remaining 75% of this season’s refund as well as adding an additional £50 donation. I am truly gobsmacked by the generosity from supporters, but also warmed by the reality that all the hard work we are putting into the club is being recognised and those that are fortunate enough to be able to assist financially feel happy to step forward. It is truly humbling.

Obviously not everyone will be in the position to be so generous, the most important thing for the Board and I is to get as many supporters along to the matches as possible and feeling a part of the club. Our crowds have been on a steady rise over the past couple of years and if we can continue that trend, it will be a huge boost to our promotion ambitions, both financially and in terms of your vocal support on the terraces.

If you have not yet seen the information regarding season tickets, full details can be found on the website here. As previously announced, for supporters that purchased a season ticket last season we are offering a 75% discount for the forthcoming season in recognition of the previous campaign being brought to a premature close. We sincerely appreciate your support in reaching this outcome, it has enabled us to maintain the club throughout the pandemic and helped us to budget and prepare for the season ahead.

Also, on the application form, you will find details for booking previously talked about parking space season tickets on a matchday. These are intended for those most in need to be able to park close to the ground when arriving up to 15 minutes before kick-off, including preseason friendlies; we have an extremely limited number (10) available – please contact the club (seasontickets@cheshamunited.co.uk) for confirmation that these are still available before submitting your season ticket forms.

The Board have also made the decision to cover the costs of renewal for Under 18’s that did have a season ticket for the 2020-21 season, supporters that fall into this category can renew for 2021/22 completely free of charge via the form – We really appreciate your support and hope you continue to support your local club and bring some friends along with you to share the experience.

A big thank you to the team that have helped to put together our offering and get it circulated so efficiently. I am sure many of you will have also seen the announcement of our pre-season friendlies over the last few days, with home matches against Wycombe Wanderers, Watford, Enfield and Wealdstone there are some great looking matches to get us back into the swing of watching live football, as well as away trips to the likes of Wingate & Finchley and Bowers & Pitsea, I for one cannot wait for it all to begin. All season tickets include entry to our home friendlies, so don’t miss out on the great value Early Bird offers!

The Chess Suite is now open on weekends, no need to wait for the football to start before returning to enjoy a couple of drinks at the clubhouse. It may have been a long time since a number of you have stepped inside, please do come along and have a look at all the pictures and memorabilia that we have moved through from the boardroom to the main clubhouse.

Last week one of our youth coaches was enjoying a celebratory pint after the team’s 6-0 cup final win over Hemel Rovers and spotted a picture of his grandfather in the pictures from 1919 and 1921 – Do you have any connections with the club going back over the years? Pop along to The Chess Suite and view our pictures on the wall, I would love to hear from any current supporters that recognise old friends or family members.

We have also been doing more painting in the entrance to The Chess Suite and we are looking for a working party next Saturday to help remove all the dead grass and weeds from the terraces – If you can bring a long a bucket, gloves and a small hand trowel, starting at 9.00am it would be hugely appreciated. After all the hard work we should have the terraces cleared by the time the bar opens for a well-deserved refreshment.

Thanks for your support, stay safe.
