We are delighted to announce the permanent signing of experienced midfielder Ryan Upward from National League South side Farnborough
Upward joins the Generals after leaving Farnborough in October but he will be best known for his nine year stay with Maidenhead United which came to an end this summer, after making over 300 appearances for the Magpies
Ryan moved to York Road for the 2014/15 season from Burnham and had been an ever-present figure, the 31-year-old left Maidenhead United as their longest serving player and boasting a wealth of experience in Non-League’s top flight until last season, and also helped to win a National League South title in 2016/17 with the Magpies
Ryan who lives locally will bring further experience to the Generals squad and joint-managers James Duncan & Michael Murray fought off strong competition from sides in our league and above to sign Ryan as they look to strengthen the squad ahead of a challenging fixture schedule
Ryan goes straight into the squad for tomorrow nights trip to Swindon Supermarine
