Upward joined the Generals after leaving Farnborough in October but he will be best known for his nine year stay with Maidenhead United which came to an end this summer, after making over 300 appearances for Magpies. Ryan moved to York Road for the 2014/15 season from Burnham and had been an ever-present figure, the 31-year-old left Maidenhead United as their longest serving player and boasting a wealth of experience in Non-League’s top flight until last season, and also helped to win a National League South title in 2016/17 with the Magpies.
