The FA Cup dream continues here in Chesham after a return to winning ways last weekend with a composed victory over Margate in front of a fantastic crowd, creating a wonderful atmosphere with vocal support behind the goal, families around the ground and as ever the area in front of the clubhouse busy with people enjoying their Saturday afternoon with some live football and catch-up with friends. That victory over Margate has put us into the 4th qualifying round of the FA Cup, just one win away from a place in the First Round and entering the hat with the League One & Two sides for the first time in seven years.

To achieve that we have a tough away trip to Braintree Town from the National League South. A very tricky tie that will require a momentous performance to win, but on the other hand if we are looking to get promoted at the end of the season, these are the type of matches we should be looking to be competitive in next season, so we should not be afraid and it will be an excellent test of where we are at currently in terms of competitiveness.

I know the Supporters’ Trust are running a coach to this game, that is hugely appreciated by the club and playing staff, your support on the day can make a big difference towards creating more great FA Cup memories. To book on the coach you can do this via the Trust website. if you cannot book online, then please contact the Trust and they can sort an alternative method but bookings via the Trust online shop are preferable.

Confirmed details:

It would be fantastic if we can take as many supporters along to this game, the home side will be well-supported and it should be a fantastic match against tough opposition and a taster of what we want to be playing on a more regular basis.

Before that we are at home to Enfield Town in the FA Trophy, the non-league FA Cup with the final played at Wembley, although that would be a big ask, it is another competition that we are keen to progress in as we look to battle on all fronts. Kick-off is at 3.00pm, but arrive early to enjoy the facilities and grab yourself a matchday programme. We think it is one of the best in the league and a good read. If you are attending tomorrow then please can we ask that you purchase your tickets online in advance from our Online Ticketing site, purchasing through here rather than on the gate really helps us get everyone through the turnstiles as quickly as possible and your support with this is much appreciated!

These are good times at Chesham United, and it is important that we build on what we have started which is why I am so pleased that for the first time in all the years that I can remember that we now have regular programme articles from both the ladies and youth sections, thank you to everyone involved in this – I really appreciate all that you are doing for the name of Chesham United and I hope all the girl, boys, ladies and men that wear our shirt feel a part of our club, and share our vision for the future.

Away from the pitch we have our Fireworks Night tickets are available to buy in advance from the website here, this is a fantastic event that draws huge crowds to The Meadow for a truly spectacular display. Once again we have invested heavily in the display to ensure we maintain our reputation for putting on the best display in the area, so please do book your tickets.

Replica shirt sales continue to go well, but we are always keen to sell more (unsurprisingly), it really does look fantastic seeing the shirts on the terraces and we would love to see as many as possible at Braintree next weekend. However it is not just at Chesham games that our replica shirts are being spotted. I received an email and a photograph this week from a football fan from Middletown, Connecticut, USA. It was a picture of him at his local football club, Hartford Athletic, wearing the yellow Chesham United shirt. Nothing special about that you might think, we have seen many photos of the shirt being warn in different places around the world. However, the amazing thing about this is that the person who sent the email had bumped into a random stranger at the stadium who was also wearing a yellow Chesham Taskmaster replica shirt! What are the chances of that?

If you have not ordered your shirt yet, you can do so via the website or by visiting the replica shirt shop inside the clubhouse at the game tomorrow. I hope to see you there.
