A week on from the end of our season and preparations are already well underway for the 2023/24 campaign, starting with the launch of our season ticket packages which include an enticing Early Bird discount and a new category for 18–23-year-olds. These supporters along with our Youth & Ladies sections are the future of our support, and as a club we have realised that there was a gap in our ticketing offering that meant some younger supporters at college or at the start of their working lives were not able to afford a season ticket.

Additionally for the 2023/24 season, we have standardised the discounts across our season ticket offering for Adults, Concessions and the NextGen ticket, this means that all season tickets get SIX free games as part of the Earlybird ticket. We have been able to keep our season ticket prices at roughly the same prices as last season, we are looking again to be competitive at the top end of the table and have already started planning for next season with the managers. And your support throughout this season will be as important as ever, as we all look to take this great club to the next level. Although we may not have won any silverware last season, midfielder Jake Peck’s stunning goal from inside our own half in the cup game against Peacehaven & Telscombe has been voted Non-League Diaries Goal of the Season on Twitter – if you haven’t seen the goal, search for it on social media, it is well worth a watch and worthy of the accolade. Jake obviously went on to sustain a season ending injury soon after that, but we hope to see him back in a Chesham shirt next season.

Tomorrow (Saturday) we will be presenting more awards at our own End of Season Awards afternoon at The Meadow, starting at 1.00pm, so if you are not watching the coronation, come along and join us as we crown our own achievers from the 2022/23 season.

Next Saturday we host the Alex Horne Comedy Football Trophy at The Meadow. The initial 2,500 tickets have all sold out so there will be no pay on the gate option available, however, there may well be a few additional tickets made available early next week, so keep an eye out on social media if you have not managed to get your hands on a ticket yet. It promises to be a fantastic day.

As mentioned previously we are also looking for volunteers to do odd jobs around the ground over the summer in preparation for the new season. I would really like to be able to set-up a group for retired supporters, or any local people, who can attend at a regular time every week – Wednesday afternoons for example – to do maintenance jobs, but also it can act as a social gathering, a chance to meet with other people, which I know would be good for everyone’s well-being. If anyone is interested in this, please do get in touch.

Next month you will be aware that we welcome Treorchy Male Voice Choir to Chesham and St Mary’s Church for a fantastic event of culture, and in support of our Club Charity ‘Buckinghamshire Mind’.  For 130 years, the Choir has been recognised as one of the greatest choral ensembles of all time and has given Royal Command Performances, appeared alongside international entertainers and undertaken an enviable number of tours around the world. If you have not yet purchased your tickets you can do so here.

Thank you again for your support throughout the season, there is still plenty going on at the club and we are always on the lookout for volunteers, so please don’t be a stranger over the summer months. I know for a lot of people the social side of the football season is an important part of the week and you can feel lost without it. If you find yourself in that boat, get in touch, I’m sure we can find ways for you to get involved and we are always delighted to hear from our supporters.
