Recap

Chesham secured their third consecutive draw which extends their unbeaten run to seven.  Chesham dominated the game for long periods and had chances to win the game including a penalty, but the home side also came close and kept Dillon Addai busy in the second half. Chesham made two changes to the starting eleven, with Lewis Rolfe returning in place of the injured Connor Roberts and Karl Oliyide starting in place of Joe Grant.

Chesham made the stronger start and came close in the fourth minute, when the home defence failed to clear a long throw and Mitchell Weiss headed just past the post.  In the next minute a back-pass from Ashley Lodge nearly caught Dillon Addai out but the keeper managed to toe-end the ball away for a corner.  Karl Oliyide then had a goal disallowed for a high challenge on the goalkeeper, but Chelmsford took the lead against the run of play on 17 minutes.  There was an element of good fortune in the build-up as the ball fell kindly for Kane Crichlow who ran on to shoot into the corner of the net.  Chesham came back and Lewis Rolfe got forward on the overlap but shot across goal.  Chesham continued in command without really threatening, but they were awarded a penalty three minutes from half-time.  Samson Esan had the ball with his back to goal when he was bundled over by a clumsy challenge from Paul Appiah.  Matt Lench took the kick but keeper Ted Collins got a hand on the ball to tip it onto the bar, Samson Esan got to the loose ball first but could only head against the bar and the ball was scrambled away.  In stoppage time Connor Stevens headed wide from a Matt Lench corner, then at the other end a long-range effort from Finley Wilkinson flew just past the post.

Chesham continued to press in the early stages of the second half.  Shortly before the hour mark Bradley Clayton came on and immediately set up Mitchell Weiss but Collins saved.  However in the next minute Samson Esan ran forward and his shot beat Collins at his near post to level the scores.  In the next minute Alex Lafleur crossed low from the left and Harry Barbrook just managed to clear as Clayton closed in.  The home side made a double substitution and began to get back into the game, and Dillon Addai was forced to tip the ball over after a free kick was headed on.  On 70 minutes a Matt Lench free kick was headed down and Taylor Foran shot wide from a good position.    Chelmsford were still well in the game, and Jordan Greenidge headed over the bar and Dillon Addai had to come out and make a couple of smart saves.  In stoppage time a long throw from Jack Cawley was fumbled by Collins, and Joe Grant forced the ball over the line but the referee disallowed the goal for a foul.
