Recap

Chesham had the consolation of being presented with the championship trophy after this game, which was their first home league defeat since last September.  This win for Bracknell makes them favourites to clinch the fourth and final play-off place after a seesaw encounter. There were four changes to the starting line-up – Steve Brown, Kieran Murphy, Callum Adebiyi and  Jack Connors came in for Avan Jones, Alex Lafleur, Ryan Upward and Ogo Obi.

Chesham had nothing to play for but still made a bright start, Ricardo German cutting in from the left and firing in a shot that keeper Michael Eacott beat away.  In the next minute Lewis Rolfe got to the by-line on the right, and the ball eventually came to T’Sharne Gallimore whose shot was parried by Eacott.  Bracknell started to move forward and Haydon Vaughan shot across goal and Ralph Vigrass hit a dipping shot over the bar.  Chesham came back with a powerful drive from Ricardo German that Eacott stretched to tip away, te a Bradley Claton shot was going wide but hut Ethan Burden and could have gone in but Eacott reacted to grab the ball.  The closes either side came to a goal came on 41 minutes, when Ricardo German ran on to Bradley Clayton’s through ball and rounded Eacott but his final effort came off the past into the arms of a relieved goalkeeper.

In the second half the visitors began to take control of the game and broke through on 56 minutes.  Vigrass headed on a long through ball and Great Evans ran on to fire past Zaki Oualah.  Jordan Espirit then fired over with a shot on the turn, then Evans again shot but Zaki Oualah dived to tip the ball round the post.  Chesham had not been in the game but equalise on 71 minutes, when Lewis Rolfe headed a Jack Connors cross back across goal and Jordan Edwards swept the ball into the net.    Edwards was immediately substituted, and two minutes later Kieran Murphy came off to a great reception on the occasion of his last home appearance for the club.  Chesham were looking the more likely to snatch a winner late on, Bradley Clayton having a shot saved after good work by Ogo Obi and firing in another effort which flew just high and wide.  However it was Bracknell who found a late winner, when Tom Jackson’s shot came back off the bar and Jordan Espirit turned in the loose ball.
