Recap
Chesham extended their lead at the top of the table with this win, which was every bit as comfortable as the scoreline suggests. Chesham took an early two-goal lead which the visitors, struggling near the foot of the table, never looked like pulling back and Chesham wrapped up the game with two further goals in the second half. After the Boxing Day win at Beaconsfield Jack Connors, Harry Rush and Ogo Obi came in for T’Sharne Gallimore, Ryan Upward and Ricardo German. New signing Ziad Al Hussaini made his debut as a second-half substitute.
Chesham went on the attack from the start and took the lead in the sixth minute. After a Harry Rush corner flew beyond the far post, Ogo Obi collected and crossed back in and Callum Adebiyi headed in from close range. It was all Chesham at this stage and Jack Connors had a shot which was blocked at the expense of another corner, then Ogo Obi broke down the left but his shot cannoned away off the legs of keeper Tyler Tobin. Harrow briefly threatened when Reece Mitchell ran at the defence but his angled shot bounced away off Zaki Oualah, but Chesham immediately broke away through Zak Joseph who crossed low and the ball was eventually scrambled away. Two minutes later Chesham doubled their lead when Jordan Edwards ran down the left, Tobin came out and saved at Edwards’ feet but the loose ball came to Alex Lafleur who drilled it into the empty net. Chesham eased off and the game went into a quiet spell, and Harrow had one attack when Barsa Mirtahmasebi crossed after a corner had been cleared but Excellence Muhemba stabbed the ball wide of the near post. Chesham finished the half on the attack, when a Jack Connors corner was cleared as far as Alex Lafleur whose shot was blocked.
Both sides moved the ball well in the second half, but with Chesham in command there was little edge to the game. Chesham scored a third just after the hour mark when a free kick was headed out, Callum Adebiyi crossed low to the near post and Ogo Obi stole in unmarked to prod the ball past Tobin. Eight minutes later it was 4-0 when Jordan Edwards blocked a ball forward and Ogo Obi ran through from the centre circle to stroke the ball past the advancing keeper. Both sides played out time although Chesham had one more chance in the final minute of normal time, when Alex Lafleur crossed low from the left and sub Avan Jones seemed to have a tap-in at the far post but miskicked. In the next minute Harrow had their one effort on goal in the half, but Tyler Robinson mishit his shot well wide.
