Club1st Half2nd HalfGoals
Chesham United022
Tiverton Town000

Chesham moved back to the top of the table with a win over their visitors from Devon, once Chesham took the lead early in the second half they were rarely threatened. Chesham were without Callum Adebiyi who was unwell and Bruno Andrade who was injured, so Jack Connors started and Ryan Upward returned after suspension.  The third change saw Steve Brown come in for Kieran Murphy, while Bradley Clayton came on as a second-half substitute for his first appearance of the season after injury.

There was little action at either end in the first half, with Chesham having more of the ball but rarely finding space in the opposition half.  Early on a Jack Connors long throw found Eoin Casey at the near post but his header clipped the top of the bar and went over.  Tiverton had a claim for a penalty a few minutes later but Jevan Wright was harshly booked for diving.  Towards half-time Chesham began to find some rhythm, and Ogo Obi’s header dropped over the bar after Ricardo German had flicked on a Jack Connors cross.  Visiting keeper Zak Baker was then called into serious action for the first time, with a low save to turn behind a shot from T’Sharne Gallimore after good work from Ricardo German.  The half ended with a powerful angled drive from Harry Rush that flew just wide of the post.

Chesham still had more of the ball in the early stages of the second half, but Tiverton had the first effort on goal when Niall Thompson shot into the side netting.  However Chesham eventually found the net on 56 minutes.  After a corner was cleared Zak Joseph set up Ryan Upward whose cross was headed in at the far post by Steve Brown.  Three minutes later Chesham had a great chance to double their lead, when Ricardo German sent Ogo Obi clear to slot the ball past the keeper but wide of the post.  Tiverton came back with Jevan Wright dispossessing Eoin Casey and shooting but his effort bounced away off the body of Zaki Oualah.  However Chesham had another good chance when Ricardo German broke into the visitors’ area and shot but his effort flew wide.  At the other end Thompson had a shot which took a slight deflection and flew over, but shortly afterwards Chesham made the game safe with a second goal.  Good work by Zak Joseph on the right ended with a shot that was parried by Baker, Ryan Upward followed up and the ball bounced kindly for Ricardo German to net with a close-range header.  Both sides then played out time with little incident, although Lewis Rolfe headed over from a Harry Rush corner in stoppage time
