Recap
For the second week running Chesham came away with the points after scoring a stoppage-time winner. After a quiet opening the game came to life when the home side scored on the hour, and Chesham equalised within two minutes.
There was only one change to the starting eleven – Jordan Edwards dropped to the bench to make way for new signing Ken Feyi, who signed for the club the day before after leaving Kings Langley. Zak Joseph was missing after the sudden death of his father in the week, while Bradley Clayton was again named on the bench but did not travel. Chesham made the stronger start but Gosport were the first to threaten, when Brett Williams seized on a stray pass and rounded Sam Beasant but went too wide and could only find the side netting. At the other end Frankie Sutherland’s shot was turned round the post by home keeper Callum Smart. The best chance of the half came on 36 minutes, when Bradley Tarbuck broke clear and side-footed past the advancing Sam Beasant but well wide of the post. In stoppage time Chesham came close when Ken Feyi’s shot was parried by Smart and Jordan Gibbons fired the loose ball over.
Shaquille Hippolyte-Patrick came on for the second half after being out for a month. Early in the second half Smart made a double save to deny Ken Feyi’s header and Hippolyte-Patrick’s follow-up, then Alison Ferreira set up Tobias Braney who shot wide. However Chesham were rocked on the hour mark, when Alison Ferreira lost possession and Abdulai Baggie set up Brett Williams to score from close range. However Chesham levelled almost immediately when Ken Feyi controlled a through ball and fired past Smart from just inside the area. As the game entered the final fifteen minutes Sam Beasant turned a Bradley Tarbuck free kick round the post, the resulting corner was cleared and T’Sharne Gallimore’s shot was tipped over by Smart. Shortly afterwards Chesham took the lead when Tobias Braney turned and fired a left-foot shot into the roof of the net with the aid of a deflection. However Gosport continued to press and drew level on 86 minutes, when sub Kyal Williams broke away down the home left and fired in an angled drive that Sam Beasant parried but could not keep out. Chesham brought on Jordan Edwards and he had an immediate effect, laying the ball off to Shaquille Hippolyte-Patrick who fired into the net from the edge of the area for another dramatic winner.
