Season 1967/8 was momentous in the history of Chesham United Football Club. ‘Little Chesham’, 1000-1 outsiders, played their first FA Amateur Cup tie in September 1967, little realising that, 7 months later, the team would be walking out at Wembley to contest the Final with Leytonstone in front of a crowd of over 52,000.

To celebrate this never-to-be-forgotten, achievement, a commemorative 64-page book is to be published, subject to crowd-funding, co-authored by two long-term fans of the Club, John Hatch and David Mortimer, both of whom experienced the amazing Cup run first hand, as teenagers. They have gathered together contemporary Press coverage, photographs and memorabilia from the 1967/8 season, to accompany the text, which will give CUFC fans, old and new, a flavour of what it was like during that record-breaking season.

It is intended that the book will be published in Spring 2019; a launch event will be held at the Club, at which several of the surviving members of the team will be present.

You have an exciting opportunity to be part of this project, by pre-ordering a copy of the book, purchasing a signed copy, or even to be at the launch event itself.

This book is intended to be a tribute to that record-breaking team. We would welcome your support in getting this project completed, by signing up to the crowdfunding site https://www.crowdpatch.com/cheshamunited1968 and choosing your level of reward for your donation.

Various levels of reward are on offer:

£8 – will reserve you a copy of the book

£20 – a book plus a mention of the purchaser’s name in the Patron’s List

£50 – signed copy of book, mention in Patron’s List, plus attendance at the formal launch event

£100 – as £50 rewards, plus four matchday passes for 2

£250 – as £50 rewards, plus a matchday sponsorship package
