We can confirm that defender Jack Cawley has departed the Meadow by mutual agreement in order to pursue an opportunity closer to home.

Jack joined the club after our promotion to the National League South this summer, going on to make 28 appearances for the club in our debut campaign. An experienced defender at this level and above, Jack had some memorable moments at the Meadow including scoring the last minute headed winner against Yeovil to setup our FA Cup live TV tie against Lincoln City and his emphatic last minute penalty to give us all three points at Enfield in October.

Joint Manager Michael Murray spoke about the decision to club media

“Jack came to us with a wish to play closer to his home in Essex, to which we have agreed. Jack has been a great presence in the dressing room this season with his experience at the back, he’s also been able to pop up with goals at crucial moments. We would like to thank Jack for his contribution to the club this season and wish him well for the rest of his career”
