Chesham United are pleased to announce the signing of 25 year old striker Tom Hitchcock. Tom is a proven goal scorer, with a great pedigree having played and scored in the Football League.

Son of former Chelsea goalkeeper Kevin Hitchcock, Tom started his career with Blackburn Rovers before going on to join QPR and MK Dons. Since leaving MK Dons, Tom has had spells at Borehamwood, Chelmsford and most recently Biggleswade where he appeared against Chesham in our 2-1 FA Cup 1st Qualifying Round victory this year.

Speaking about the signing of Tom, Jon Meakes commented that “Tom will hopefully take the chances we have been creating, which will allow us to get a foot hold in games when we are on top.”

Tom goes into the squad for Saturday’s home league game vs Harrow Borough. We hope you join us in welcoming Tom to the Meadow.

Jon also had the following update for supporters looking ahead to the next few weeks;

“We still have a few injuries to key senior players & they will make us stronger. Adam Martin (knee), Danny Green (calf), are still both out but should hopefully be back in a week & Kieran Murphy (foot) is 2 weeks away from returning.

The next 6 games are key to defining our season. A fit squad & a settled team will show this & the dressing room is good and have the belief that we can turn round our poor start.

Thank you for your support on Saturday in the heavy rain at Welling and it was good to see that see that you are behind the team, hopefully you saw the same improvement in performance that we in the management team and squad did.”
