Chesham United are delighted to announce that we have entered into an exclusive partnership with The Chiltern & Shelburne Hospitals, who are the leading private healthcare provider in Buckinghamshire. Both hospitals, part of Circle Health Group, will be the first team back of shirt sponsor for the 2024/2025 season. In addition, to supporting the team on the pitch, staff and doctors will also be launching health awareness campaigns in partnership with “the Generals” to improve health and wellbeing amongst the clubs’ supporters.
Chesham United itself was established in 1917 following a merger of Chesham Town and Chesham Generals, but traces it routes back to 1879 as Chesham Town, the much-loved local club play in the Southern League Premier Division and are widely recognised as one of Buckinghamshire’s leading semi-professional sides.
The partnership which was signed in March will see The Chiltern Hospital in Great Missenden and The Shelburne Hospital in High Wycombe become one of the men’s first team shirt sponsors.
Both hospitals have an established reputation for delivering fast, effective and high-quality care to patients who pay for themselves or are supported by insurance. Staff and doctors at each hospital are committed to playing an active role in the communities they serve and welcome the opportunity to begin what is hoped to be a long-term partnership with a fellow community minded organisation.
In addition to sponsoring the back of the first team shirts, the hospital’s specialist medical professionals will be working with Chesham United to improve health and wellbeing awareness amongst the club’s dedicated supporters.
With challenges across the healthcare sector at an all-time high, both hospitals and the club believe that they have a responsibility to use their platform to support fans and visitors with information and guidance about conditions ranging from arthritis to cataracts.
It is hoped that by working together, more people across Chesham and further afield will feel confident talking about and understanding their health.
Commenting on the announcement, Fraser Dawson, Executive Director of The Chiltern and The Shelburne Hospitals, said:
“As an organisation we are committed to playing an active role in the communities that we are fortunate to serve. Through our sponsorship and work with the club, we hope to strengthen our relationship with the community, as well as ensuring that players, club officials and supporters are equipped with the information they need to make informed decisions about their health.”
Peter Brown, Chairman of Chesham United, added:
“We are absolutely delighted with the new partnership and are excited about the future working together. We have worked hard in recent months to change the perception of a football club and evolve our ambition to be a key part of our community in more ways than just football. Health and well-being is so important in the modern world and if we can use our platform to help promote better well-being and healthier lifestyles amongst our supporters that can only be a good thing.
Our new shirts for the 2024/25 including the new Circle Health Group sponsorship will be announced in early April, so keep an eye out as the new kits for 24/25 are not to be missed”
