We are delighted to announce that Brad Clayton has re-signed with the club for at least the 2022/23 season, putting pen to paper on a contract in recent weeks. Brad has been an integral part of the squad at the Meadow over the last four seasons since joining from Brentford in August 2018, an exciting attacking midfielder and fans favourite.

With 47 goals in 119 games in his 4 seasons at the club, including 26 goals last seasons to finish as Top Scorer as well as picking up the Supporters Trust Player of the Season and Players’ Player of the Season at the end of season awards.

We spoke to Brad about re-signing at the Meadow; “I’m delighted to be re-signing with the club for next season, I think we’ve got a really bright future as a club with the team that JD & Muzza have put together. We’re all looking forward to pushing on next season again

I’m delighted to be staying part of the club, this is only the second club of my career (after leaving Brentford), and the club & supporters have been great with me and my family when they come down to games with their Chesham scarves.”

With managers James Duncan & Michael Murray understandably delighted that Brad has put pen to paper; “We are really pleased to be signing Brad up for at least another season at the Meadow. Brad has been brilliant for us and has established himself as one of the best attacking players in the league.

We know his re-signing will be a popular one with supporters and we are looking forward to next season already with lots of positive conversations with last year’s squad and possible new additions already”

And Chairman Peter Brown was also delighted with the news; “Brad has had an excellent season and I am really pleased that we have been able to agree terms with him nice and early for us to start to build a team to compete at the top end of the table again next season. I know the managers have had lots of positives conversations that we’ll be able to announce in due course”
