Leese adds two signings to first team squad

Tuesday 20th November

Chesham United have added two players to the first team squad in the past few days.

United manager Andy Leese has completed a one month loan deal for 19 year old Watford defender Matt Bevans along with today completing the signing of Dean Pennant on Southern League forms from Ryman Premier Division side Enfield Town.

Leese thanked Watford FC for their co-operation in loaning the youngster. "Matt is a highly rated 3rd year scholar at championship club Watford FC. He has had period out with injury, and the deal suits all parties with Matt looking to get some games and we cover an area where we are currently short of options. He made his debut for us on Saturday."

Matt spoke about his loan move to the Watfordfc.com website.

“I’m fit again and have been for a while now,” he explained.

“It will be good for me to go on loan, to get a good string of games in a month and hopefully I’ll be stronger and fitter when I finish.

“The time out was hard; it was mentally tough but you get to a point where you know you’ve got to do it to have a career. I now feel stronger and fitter and I’m looking to play.”

27 year old Dean lists Grays Athletic, Potters Bar Town, Brentwood Town, Enfield (1893) and Waltham Forest amongst his previous clubs. The central midfielder has been a regualr in the Enfield Ryman Premier side this season.
