Today the thoughts of everyone at Chesham United are with our defender Ryan Moran. Fans will be aware that Ryan has been out of the side with illness recently but we have only recently had the full diagnosis of the cause.
Club manager Andy Leese explains: "Ryan is in hospital today as he undergoes a long and complex operation having been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in his kidney.
"It is devastating news for him and his family, and as Management and players we are also feeling the effects of the news. Many of the players are good friends with Ryan having played with him at other clubs. The good news is that Ryan is facing the illness with the strength and positivity that typifies him as a player. He is a top class player who is well liked and respected in the dressing room, and I am sure by all who have played with him or managed him.
"Our thoughts are with him today, and I am sure it wont be long before we see him back around the club. As befits Ryan's nature and dedication to the game, he is keen for us to get on with our matches, starting with tonight's game at Beaconsfield."
