Ryan Moran Select XI vs Chesham United, Sunday 12th May kick off at noon

On Sunday 12th May we will be hosting a special benefit match for our defender Ryan Moran at The Meadow.

The Chesham United first team squad will be taking on a Ryan Moran Select XI made up of players who Ryan has played with over his career. Regular supporters will know that Ryan has suffered with a very serious illness this year. He continues to receive treatment and is showing the courage and fight that typifies him as a player.

Players so far confirmed include former Chesham favourites Leon Archer, Chris Bangura, Darrell Cox, Adam Parker and Danny Talbot.

Other players in Ryan's squad include former St Albans players Lenny Piper and Kevin Mudd, Mark Smith (Stevenage, Hitchin, Boreham Wood), Lee Harvey (St Albans, Aylesbury, Boreham Wood), Tommy Williams (ex Boreham Wood), Noel imber (ex Boreham Wood), Freddy Hyatt (ex Hendon, St Albans), Mario Noto (current Boreham Wood), Jamie Richards, Rob Haworth, Leon Hunter.Andy Leese & Jon Meakes are also threatening to appear - if selected by their team manager!

The bar will be open and we will have a BBQ going to provide food. Following the game there will be an auction in the bar to raise further funds.

It's a sign of his popularity with our own players and his former colleagues that they are all offering to play after the season closes. That popularity is mirrored on the terraces here at Chesham and we hope you will all come out in good numbers to support the occasion. There will also be an auction of some interesting and popular football items on the day.

All funds raised will be available for Ryan to use as he wishes and we understand he intends to donate the proceeds to cancer charities and the Mount Vernon hospital where he has recently received treatment.

Kick off for this one is at noon with entry by donation on the gate - please give generously! Get the date in your diary and come along to support Ryan and some great causes.
