Welcome to Mani Asare & Hicham Benmadani
Chesham United FC have announced a new Reserve Team Manager ahead of the new season. Emanual (Mani) Asare has previously managed Southall FC and has extensive knowledge of the Spartan South Midlands League. He is a senior elite coach at Wycombe and has worked at Brentford FC as Development Manager.
Mani will also work within the Chesham United FC Academy this season to provide a link across the U18 teams in the club. He will be assisted by Hicham Benmadani. Hicham has played in Morocco and more locally with Marlow, Amersham and Chalfont St Peter amongst others. He recently obtained his Level 3 Coaching Licence and is keen to commence a career in coaching and managing, whilst still playing.
Both are well connected in the game and have a keen eye for developing young players, something Andy Leese was keen to emphasise: “I am delighted to get both in to the club, albeit a bit late in the day! We need to build a strong foundation again for our young players to develop in the club and for the first team, and I think Mani and Hicham will do just that.
"They are both hungry to learn and see Chesham as the place to develop their own careers which is something I encourage. I will update more when time allows, but they have a challenging job on their hands to get pre-season underway and to assess the players we have as well as recruiting players. I am sure we will welcome them to the club and support them as we do with all our Management teams. I wish them well and look forward to working with them both.”
