Shane Gore moves on - updated 20th July with a message from Shane.

Update Wednesday 20th July 2016

A message from Shane on his departure

I just wanted to say a massive thank you to all the supporters and everyone linked to the club for all the support over the last 6 seasons.

It was not an easy decision to move clubs. Probably the hardest I've had to make in football but I just felt it was the right time to challenge myself at a new club and different league.

I want to thank Andy, Jon, Brian and all the supporters for everything they have done for me and the great times we have shared. The Bristol Rovers win will always be a highlight and to be part of that was amazing!

I'm very proud to have played over 300 games for Chesham and maybe in the future that tally could increase again, I played some of my best football here and some of the most enjoyable too.

Thank you all again, good luck for the season and I am sure our paths will cross in the future again soon!

Cheers,

Shane

Shane Gore moves on

An update from Chesham United manager Andy Leese:

"I have been advised last night by Shane that he has decided to move on and seek a new challenge this season in the Ryman League. It is disappointing news, but as always we have to respect a players wishes. Shane leaves after a long spell at the club in which I said last season he has played himself in to the players in the history of the club that will be remembered for a very long time.

"It leaves us with a problem to solve ahead of the new season, and rest assured I will be working hard to do that. It is a specialist position, and one we have to get right. We have Matt Nolan coming through as a very capable young keeper making his way in the game. I will update you this week as we have any news."
