The Generals rounded off their 2015/16 Southern Premier League campaign with this 4-2 win away at St Neots to finish 11th, a very creditable position considering the resources available and the demands of the hugely successful FA Cup and Trophy runs

Goals from Dave Pearce and Kelvin Bossman gave Chesham a 2-0 lead inside 6 minutes. Ex Chesham marksman Drew Roberts pulled one back for The Saints on 21 minutes but a Toby Little free kick restored Chesham's two goal advantage before half time. Roberts was on target again on 66 minutes to give the hosts hope by pulling the score back to 3-2. However, it was Bossman who found the net next to put the game beyond St Neots reach and seal a 4-2 win for Chesham Utd

The 1st XI now plan for the end of season finale, the chance to lift silverware in the Berks and Bucks Senior Cup Final v Aylesbury at Windsor FC on Bank Holiday Monday 2nd May KO 15:00. Be there and show your support for all that the team have achieved this season, as they attempt to build on this season's FA Cup success over our local rivals and lift the County Cup.

Andy Leese

Manager Andy Leese commented:

"A deserved win last night. Thanks to the fans who travelled on a night when there were better football viewing options on offer! We played some great football on an excellent playing surface. The first two goals were fantastic team goals. The surface allowed us to pass it quickly and our finishing was equal to the build up. St Neots changed shape in the second half and we took a while to adapt, but we always looked threatening on the break.

"It is pleasing to get a top half finish alongside our other achievements this season. The squad deserve huge credit with a good number of them having played well in excess of 50 games this season. Some pressure games across the season, and hundreds of miles covered in the pursuit of success. We have not finished yet with the B&B Final to come. A trophy we have a real affinity with in my time here. Hopefully we get some decent support on the day.

"It has been an incredible season with the FA Cup and FA Trophy exploits, as well as solid progression across all the football in the club with Reserves, Youth, Ladies and the new Academy. I am not sure people see that as I do, but a huge amount of work and commitment goes in to every level. I am disappointed that Joe Sweeney has been allowed to leave without so much as a mention. I brought Joe in last summer and he has completely transformed the set up with the SSML team. Young players of real quality being taught the game in readiness for the first team. He is a first team manager in the making and has been a real support to me this season. I will add to that when it is appropriate.

"In the meantime, a few days rest watching other games before the preparation starts for the Final and for most managers planning for next season."
