Corby Town v Chesham Utd: Saturday 8th November, KO 15:00: Match Preview

Thursday 6th November

This Saturday 8th November the 1st XI travel to third placed Corby Town. Corby have only lost three times in the league this season, most recently 2-1 at home to Slough on October 1st. The Steelmen, like Chesham, also exited the FA Trophy at the weekend  losing 1-0 at home to Redditch Utd

Earlier this season, on August 23rd, Corby won 1-0 at The Meadow against a Chesham side that was at that stage still very much a work in progress. Corby's current league from is impressive, with six wins and a draw from their last seven. However, The Generals travel unbeaten in the league since 9th September with only one league defeat on the road all season, and - as evidenced by the recent win away at second placed St Neots - will not give undue deference to Corby's league position

The venue    http://www.corbytownfc.co.uk/steel-park    is Steel Park, Jimmy Kane Way, Rockingham Road, Corby, Northants NN17 2AE. Approx 1hr 40 min drive from Chesham, there is also a coach available, details below

Andy LeeseManager Andy Leese commented

"We have another tough fixture this weekend as we play a Corby team that are doing well so far. It was a physical game at our place and I expect the same again. We have done well on the road of late and I will be looking for another strong response after last Saturday. We will train today and check the injury situation before we travel, but I hope to have a full squad to choose from. We need to improve our League position and get closer to our targets for the season, starting this weekend."
