Wednesday 14th September
Chesham Utd, who had been unbeaten since the opening game of the season, have now lost two in four days. The controversial defeat at home to Kings Lynn was followed by this single goal loss away to Hayes & Yeading, at Beaconsfield Sycob's ground.
An undistinguished match saw below par performances from both sides, the winner coming in the first half against the run of play from a free diving header at the back post scored by Hayes' Melford Simpson. The 1st XI now focus on preparation for Saturdays FA Cup Second Qualifying round trip to Sevenoaks.

Manager Andy Leese commented
!It was a bitterly disappointing performance on Tuesday night at Hayes. Too many players content to let the game take it's course against a team who were fired up after a heavy defeat on Saturday. We created plenty again, but we simply are not taking chances.
"I need to look at selection, attitudes, and the reasons why we are not scoring when we are in control of the game. The players know my views, and they also know they need to respond this month. We cannot have too many off days if we want to be successful this season.
"The dressing room has strong characters and experienced players in there, and they have to take some responsibility for performances and preparation.
"League titles and promotions are not won in September, but we know they can be made harder to achieve if you don’t pick up points when you have the opportunities"
