Dave Pearce scored direct from a corner in Saturday's 1-1 draw v Weymouth: all images courtesy of Trevor Hyde
The talk amongst the Meadow faithful leaving the ground on Saturday was of two points dropped, and indeed Chesham could and probably should have won this game. However credit must go to a Weymouth side who dug in, upped their workrate, and held out to deserve their point
Dave Pearce opened the scoring direct from a corner on 16 minutes, and The Generals then held the upper hand, Weymouth finding it hard to get out of their half. However, a moment's indecisiveness in the Chesham defence proved the home side's undoing, allowing Stewart Yetton to bobble the ball home for a 44th minute equaliser. No further goals followed, but the yellow card count mounted for each side with Weymouth's Brooks being sent off for his second. Chesham made changes, but could not press home the man advantage and the match finished all square. A full match report will appear on the 1st XI Fixtures and Results page as usual.
