Tom Gowans picked for England Schools squad

Friday 7th December

Gowans makes it three Chesham internationals in two years

Following the final selection trials at Lilleshall last weekend, we are pleased to announce that Chesham United Youth team goalkeeper, Tom Gowans, has been selected for the final England Schoolboys U18 squad.Tom's selection for this year's international squad follows on from the two Chesham United youngsters who represented England Schools last season.

First team manager Andy Leese was delighted to hear the selection news: "It is a fantastic achievement for Tom, and the club are proud to provide another player for the England Schoolboys squad, following on from Tom Fouhy and Ben Mooney who achieved the honour last year.

"Huge credit is due to our Youth management team, Gary Breeden and Paul Deverrick, in bringing Tom to the club and recognising his potential"

Tom also trains with the first team goalkeeper Shane Gore, and under the watchful eye of our goalkeeping coach, Rhys Tom, will prepare for an exciting schedule of games and training days with the England squad between January and April 2013.

Our congratulations to Tom from all at Chesham United Football Club.
