Andy Leese is pleased to announce that Chesham United has appointed goalkeeper Shane Gore as the new club captain. Dave Fotheringham will act as vice captain.
Shane has made 122 appearances for the Generals since making his debut in a 3-0 win at Truro City on the opening day of the 2010-2011 season. He has been virtually ever-present in goal since with just a handful of absences from the starting line up.
Dave Fotheringham is of course our longest serving player having come up through the youth age groups at The Meadow before making his senior debut as a 17 year old in a 3-1 Isthmian League Premier win over Boreham Wood - the first of 364 appearances to date.
"Shane and Dave are experienced players," explained Leese, "and will have the respect of the players, the supporters, the Board and all at the Club.
"It was an easy decision to make given Shane's experience in the game, and he was delighted to be offered the chance to captain the club where he has been an influential player."
