Thursday 13th December
Saturday is a massive day for Chesham United as the club looks to put our indifferent league form behind us in an attempt to progress another step closer to Wembley in the FA Trophy.
Victories over Bishops Cleeve, Taunton, Canvey Island and Bath City have earned us a match against National Conference side, Barrow. The Cumbrians make their long trip down to Chesham this weekend as outstanding favourites, but football is a funny old game.
"Barrow have won the Trophy in recent times" acknowledges manager Andy Leese "and I am sure like us they will see this as an opportunity to give their season a boost. It has been a while since the crowd at The Meadow had something to shout about, but I hope the fans can create an atmosphere for the players to respond to. It really does help. I will be telling them that they will only remember a few games they played in any detail when they eventually stop playing. Make this one of those games!"
Having already disposed of one former winner of the competion in the shape of Canvey Island, Chesham will be looking to add Barrow to that list and continue the dream of a return to Wembley for the first time since 1968.
