Last Show of the Year.. (and possibly ever!)

Following some hugely successful shows over the past year, Comedy @ The Chess returns this month for one last time. Join us again for more laughs and giggles to chase away the autumn blues... but please be sure to reserve your tickets early to avoid disappointment as seating usually sells-out in advance.

The Trust has been presenting stand-up-comedy each month in the Chess Suite since August 2006 but sadly our regular shows will soon come to an end :(. Although we may host special one-off events in future, the November show is currently the last performance scheduled in the monthly format. If you haven't been along to a show yet, don't miss your final chance to see world class comedy locally. This line-up is an absolute cracker!

Don't forget Supporters' Trust members receive a 20% discount on tickets, just bring your membership card.

In The Line-Up This Month:>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Headline Act
BAFTA award winning headliner JIM TAVARÉ is simply not to be missed! With two series of "The Sketch Show" for ITV under his belt and his own show on Channel 5, Jim is one of the best known acts on the circuit. He has also made three appearances at The Royal Variety Performance and starred in "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" as Tom, the inn-keeper of the Leaky Cauldron.

Opening Act
SIMON LIPSON embarked on his comedy career in 1994 and reached the final of the "Hackney Empire New Act of the Year" competition that same year. Since then he has clocked up an impressive array of TV, radio, theatre and comedy club credits as a comedian, impressionist, actor, writer and voiceover artist.

Middle Act
SAM STONE is an up and coming comic who won the Comedy Café new act award in 2007 and is now a resident compère at the famous Komedia club in Brighton. Time Out magazine describes her as both “wickedly promising” and “darkly twisted” – sounds perfect for us!

Compère
Host for the night, DAVE THOMPSON is an international stand-up comedian and compère known for his brilliant one-liners and somewhat odd persona. He can be seen in Al Murray’s "Time Gentlemen Please" and has also appeared on "Harry Hill’s TV Burp" among others. Perhaps however, he is best known as Tinky Winky from the Teletubbies ...until being moved on by the Beeb for ‘inappropriate’ behaviour that is! Stand-up credits include Jongleurs, The Comedy Store and Up The Creek as well as touring throughout Europe and the US.
