Chesham's youth staged a remarkable comeback to win the Brian Hitchings Challenge Cup at the Meadow with a burst of three goals in three minutes.

Waltham Abbey took the lead in ten minutes with a pull-back from the by-line and a low shot into the corner of the net. However within two minutes Chesham were level when a shot from Daniel Loveday found the corner of the net with the visiting keeper clearly thinking the ball was going wide. The rest of the first half was a tight affair, Chesham's best chance coming on 26 minutes when Keion Halstead set up Brad Wadkins whose shot clipped the top of the bar. However Waltham Abbey took the lead four minutes from half-time when Sam Chappel got too far under a cross from the visitors' right and left a simple header from close range.

In the opening minutes of the second half Will Orchard was brought down two yards inside the area but the referee gave a free kick on the edge, but the visitors broke away and made in 3-1 in the 48th minute. Will Orchard was just off target with a left-foot drive, but with ten minutes to go Chesham were not looking like getting back in the game. However sub Tom Bambury found some space in the Waltham Abbey area to set up Brad Wadkins who side-footed in, two minutes later Bambury's pace took him clear of the defence to equalise, and in the next minute Keion Halstead ran onto Brad Wadkins' pass to shoot home the winner and complete an amazing turnaround.
