Chesham made it four wins in a row with this success against a Bedford Town side lying eighth in the Southern League premier division.  The game was a curious affair, as for the first 67 minutes even one goal seemed unlikely, then three came along in the space of three minutes.

There was only one change to the line-up that beat Leighton in midweek, Andy Keepence returning in place of Kieran Allen-Curry after recovering from flu.  Bedford were hit by a freak injury to defender Jon Darby after only four minutes.  After keeper Andrew Stevens collected a Danny Talbot free kick, Darby went down and his team-mates immediately called for a stretcher and he was taken to hospital with a suspected broken arm.  The remainder of the first half was largely uneventful, Chesham coming close only once when John Lawford controlled a long ball from Andy Keepence and shot on the turn just over the bar.  Bedford had slightly more of the possession but rarely came close to troubling Richard Hayward, their only efforts on goal being a couple of long shots well off target.

In the early stages of the second half Chesham came into the game more, Carl Bruce having a shot deflected behind and Adam Parker stinging the hand of Stevens with a powerful shot.  However it was Bedford who took the lead midway through the half when substitute James Hatch ran through the middle and shot from the edge of the area, Hayward allowing the ball to slip under his body and into the net.  However the lead was to last only two minutes, Danny Burnell controlling a cross from the left before turning and hooking the ball over Stevens and into the top corner of the net.  In the next minute Danny Talbot's left-wing corner found Carl Bruce at the far post who stole in to head home what proved to be the winner.  After that the game went back to a tight affair with chances at a premium.  Bedford pushed forward but never threatened, while Chesham came closer to scoring following a poor goal kick by Stevens which Danny Burnell collected and set up Adam Parker who shot across the face of the goal
