Chesham completed a highly satisfactory week with their third win on the trot against mid-table Dunstable. Chesham weathered the first half against the wind, then used the wind advantage to take control of the game after the interval.
There was one change to the starting line-up, with Eugene Ofori returning to the club for another loan spell and replacing Sammy Winston who had not recovered from the injury sustained at Rushall. It was clear from the early stages that the wind would be a major factor and Dunstable had the advantage in the first half. In the third minute a left-wing corner caused a scramble in the area before the ball was cleared, but thereafter Dunstable were unable to use the conditions to put Chesham's defence under any concerted pressure. Midway through the half a snap shot from 35 yards by Aaron Flood caused Richard Hayward to back-pedal but ultimately the keeper saved comfortably, while at the other end Eugene Ofori got his head to Danny Talbot's free kick and keeper Paul Taylor saved although the referee awarded a goal kick. Dunstable then missed their best chance when Ross Hanley crossed low from the right and Stephen Pratt side-foted the ball wide of the near post. As half-time approached Chesham won a free kick on the right and Danny Talbot went for goal but Taylor tipped the ball away to safety.
The second half proved to be a different story as Chesham took charge immediately after the restart. In the fourth minute of the half Jordan Bostock's long free kick into area bounced off a defender to Eugene Ofori who hooked over the bar from ten yards, then shortly afterwards a scramble in the Dunstable area resulted in Adam Parker being upended as he was about to shoot. The ball ran to Andy Keepence who fired in but the referee had already awarded a penalty which Danny Burnell tucked away. Chesham continued to go for goal and Dave Fotheringham set up a chance for Danny Burnell who shot straight at Taylor, then Danny Talbot was only just off target with a shot from 25 yards. Kevin Cotton played a neat one-two with Eugene Ofori and shot just wide from the edge of the area, but after 70 minutes Chesham wrapped up the points when Mark Lambert ran to the by-line on the right and crossed low for Eugene Ofori to tap in at the far post. Adam Parker was narrowly high and wide with an attempted lob from Dave Fotheringham's pass, but with the result not in doubt Chesham used the last few minutes to rest a few players. With two minutes left a rare Dunstable attack forced a corner from which Flood found Neal Perrin who hooked over from close range, but Chesham came back and sub Simon Ellis laid the ball off to Mark Lambert who broke into the area and fired just past the far post.
