Harry Isted 1 Tim Trebes Chesham moved into the play-off zone with their sixth consecutive league win. Chesham struggled throughout the opening quarter but were always in control of the game once they had taken the lead in the 22nd minute.

There were two changes to the Chesham side, Matthew Hall replacing the injured Jhai Dhillon at left-back, while Adam Watkins returned with Danny Green dropping to the bench. St Ives came into the game on an improved run, but had only played three games since the turn of the year compared to Chesham’s eight. The visitors made the early running and in the fifth minute Harry Isted dived to keep out a long-range effort from Declan Rogers. Chesham failed to muster an attack until the eighteenth minute, when Ravi Shamsi’s cross was headed over by Lewis Toomey. Two minutes later Harry Isted was forced to dive to keep out Ben Baker’s shot, then turned Oliver Snaith’s follow-up effort round the post. However when Chesham put the visitors’ defence under pressure for the first time they broke through, when Matthew Hall’s long cross from wide on the left found Jefferson Louis whose header dipped under the bar with keeper Tim Trebes stranded. Eleven minutes later Benji Crilley was unmarked to head Ravi Shamsi’s corner inside the far post to make it 2-0. Four minutes later Adam Watkins fired in a shot from 30 yards, Jefferson Louis stuck out a foot and deflected the effort just inside Trebes’ right-hand post to make it 3-0. With the visitors desperately needing to get back in the game Declan Rogers went for goal with a free kick on the right touchline, but Harry Isted reacted to turn the ball onto the bar from where it was scrambled away. In the last minute of the half a hurried clearance from Harry Isted came to Tom Knowles who controlled but lobbed the ball well wide of the vacant net.

With the game in their control Chesham sat on their lead for most of the second half. Ten minutes after the restart Ben Baker set up Oliver Snaith who shot well over, then ten minutes later Tom Knowles shot across the face of the Chesham goal from wide on the left. Chesham ended any doubt about the result on 73 minutes, when a long clearance from Harry Isted was flicked on by Lewis Toomey and sub Oran Swales rounded Trebes and slotted into the empty net. Chesham took the opportunity to take off some of their injured players but could have added further goals late on. On 81 minutes David Hutton set up Jefferson Louis who lobbed the advancing keeper but the ball bounced just wide of the goal. Oran Swales then ran to the right hand edge of the visitors’ area and shot across goal, then in the next minute Jefferson Louis curled a shot from the other side just wide of the far post. In stoppage time Jon-Jo Bates found Jefferson Louis on the left, and Louis drew the goalkeeper but shot high and wide.
