Adam Watkins
Ethan Ross  1 Hafed Al-Droubi  Chesham played some of their best football of the season yet came away with nothing to show for it.  Chesham had far more of the game and came close to fighting back from a two-goal deficit, but a breakaway third in the 77th minute clinched the game for the home side.

After making his debut as a substitute last week, Adam Watkins made his first start in place of Callum Bunting.  Victor Osobu was back on the bench after injury, alongside Benji Crilley who rejoined the club during the week.  On Redditch’s artificial surface Chesham dominated the early possession, and in the tenth minute a right-wing cross from Zack Reynolds was headed goalwards from beyond the far post by David Hutton but the ball hit keeper Ethan Ross and went behind for a corner.  However Redditch took the lead after 16 minutes after their first attack led to a corner on the home left.  Andi Thanoj’s kick went to the far post, bounced off a defender and ran loose for Orrin Pendley to score from close range.  Six minutes later a move down the home right set up Spencer Weir-Daley on the edge of the area, and Weir-Daley turned and lobbed the ball over Hafed Al-Droubi and into the vacant net to make it 2-0.  However Chesham came back three minutes later when a left-wing move led to a hurried clearance to Matt Bevans, who controlled and shot low from 25 yards into the corner of the net to the keeper’s right.  Chesham continued to have the majority of the play but created few chances in the rest of the half, their best effort being a 30-yard free kick from Matt Bevans that flew just over.  Ten minutes from half-time Redditch came close again when Dior Angus shot from the right-hand edge of the penalty area but Hafed Al-Droubi dived to beat the ball away.

Early in the second half Oran Swales cut in from the right and fired in a shot that Ross tipped away, the ball was crossed back in and Ross made a fine diving save to deny Danny Green.  However in the next minute Chesham gave the ball away, Dior Angus ran from inside his own half and slipped the ball past the advancing keeper but past the far post.  Al-Droubi then dived to keep out a long-range effort from Andi Thanoj.  Just after the hour mark Chesham brought on Lewis Toomey, and within a minute Toomey headed just over from David Hutton’s left-wing cross.  Shortly afterwards Hutton crossed low from the left and Marcel Simpson stuck out a foot only to turn the ball towards his own net, but Ross finger-tipped the ball round the post.  As Chesham pushed forward Redditch broke away and Hafed Al-Droubi turned away another effort from Andi Thanoj.  Thirteen minutes from time Nathan Fox crossed from wide on the left and the unmarked Dior Angus headed the decisive third goal, Hafed Al-Droubi getting a hand to the ball but itjust had enough force to roll over the line.  Chesham brought on another striker in Callum Bunting, but the game was over as a contest and the home team were able to see the game out.
