Martin Bennett 1 Hafed Al-Droubi These two teams played out a forgettable Boxing Day draw. Chesham shaded the possession and chances, but this game rarely looked like being anything other than goalless.

David Hutton returned to face his former club, replacing Ravi Shamsi who was injured in Saturday’s game against Hereford. The other change saw Oran Swales replace Darren Locke with Benji Crilley switching to the centre of defence and Munashe Sundire at right back. Chesham came close early on when a David Hutton corner was cleared, Hutton ran at the defence and pulled the ball across goal but home keeper Martin Bennett saved at the feet of Benji Crilley. Bennett saved a shot on the turn from Jefferson Louis, then the home side had their first effort with Brendan Ocran shooting straight at Hafed Al-Droubi. Oran Swales shot over, an Adam Watkins shot was saved by Bennett and a hurried shot from David Hutton flew wide as Chesham made the early running. Kings came back but Hafed al-Droubi was not seriously tested by efforts from Josh Coldicott-Stevens and Brendan Ocran. The home side’s best effort came in first-half stoppage time, when Hafed al-Droubi had to make a smart save from Coldicott-Stevens.

Darren Locke replaced the injured Benji Crilley for the second half. Early in the half Hafed Al-Droubi tipped over a deflected shot from Michael King, then at the other end Joe Iaciofano took on Bennett from the edge of the area but the keeper produced a smart save. Chesham came closest on 65 minutes, when Jhai Dhillon crossed to Jefferson Louis who headed wide of the far post from a good position. King forced another good save from Hafed Al-Droubi, then a long-range effort from Brendan Ocran flew just over. However Chesham looked the more likely to win it late on, and on 79 minutes Jefferson Louis headed just over from Ravi Shamsi’s corner. Chesham mounted a late charge with Shane Bush heading wide from an Adam Watkins cross, then Bennett made an acrobatic save to keep out Ravi Shamsi’s shot. Deep into stoppage time Jefferson Louis’ shot on the turn forced another smart save from Bennett.
