Oshane Brown 1 Ashlee Jones A stoppage-time goal from sub Barry Hayles earned Chesham a replay that had seemed unlikely for most of the second half. After taking an early lead Chesham looked comfortable until the home side equalised with their first worthwhile effort on goal on the stroke of half-time. After that Chesham were knocked out of their stride by the home team, backed by an enthusiastic crowd who were determined to make the most of their big day.

Chesham made three changes to the starting line-up, with Brett Longden coming in at right-back and Benji Crilley switching to the centre of defence in place of the suspended Darren Purse. Matt Taylor and Ryan Blake were given starts in place of Sam Youngs and Drew Roberts who were on the bench. Chesham took the lead in the third minute, when Brad Wadkins took advantage of a poor defensive header to lob the ball over the advancing keeper and into the net from the edge of the area. Chesham looked in control of the game for most of the rest of the half, albeit without achieving any real fluency. After fifteen minutes Brad Wadkins laid off a long clearance from Ashlee Jones into the path of Ryan Blake, who shot past Brown but also past the post. As half-time approached Brett Longden crossed to Brad Wadkins who glanced a header wide, then a Dave Pearce corner was headed past the post by Adam Martin. Another Pearce corner found the head of Benji Crilley whose effort hit a defender and went out for another corner. Sevenoaks had offered little going forward, but in the last minute of the half Harrison Carnegie’s shot beat a diving Ashlee Jones to his left to draw the home team level.

Boosted by the goal and by a half-time substitution, Sevenoaks came forward after the interval and took the lead six minutes after the restart. Stephen Camacho crossed from the by-line on the left, and Chesham’s defence was drawn to the near post leaving Carnegie unmarked to head in. With the home crowd finding their voice the home side continued to pour forward. Kieron McCann shot over from distance, then had another shot which Ashlee Jones saved and Byron Walker netted the loose ball but was offside. Jerson dos Santos hit a shot over from wide on the left, Harrison Carnegie shot over after Toby Little had headed clear, then Carnegie set up Walker who shot over from a dangerous position. Chesham’s only response came from a free kick which Drew Roberts took, but Brown moved to his left to save. As the game wore on tempers frayed and the referee issued three yellow cards in three minutes. However Chesham had enough left in the tank to mount one last attack, and Drew Roberts and Dave Pearce combined to set up sub Barry Hayles, making his first appearance of the season, to roll the ball past Brown to level the scores. There was still time for Stephen Camacho to fire in a shot but Ashlee Jones saved comfortably.
