George Legg 1 Jose Veiga Chesham returned to form with an ultimately comfortable win over a Redditch side in seventh place at the start of the evening. After a shaky start in which the visitors missed a golden chance to take the lead, Chesham scored after nineteen minutes and grew in confidence as the game went on. Chesham also kept their first league clean sheet of the season after conceding ten goals in the previous four league games.

The only change to the starting line-up saw Nick Beasant return to the centre of defence in place of Tommy Fletcher. Both sides looked lively early on without looking likely to score, but on fifteen minutes Chesham had a let-off when George Fenton’s headed back-pass let in Daniel Dubidat who slipped the ball past George Legg but wide of the post. Four minutes later Chesham took the lead when Kelvin Bossman crossed low from the left, Ryan Blake missed at the near post but the ball came to Brad Wadkins who shot home from fifteen yards. Chesham began to string some good moves together, and on 25 minutes Dave Pearce squared from the left to Kelvin Bossman who controlled and shot just wide of the far post. Nine minutes later a Dave Pearce short corner was cleared, but Bruce Wilson played the ball back in and eventually Pearce collected and drove past keeper Jose Veiga and into the far corner of the net for Chesham’s second. Three minutes later Redditch won a free kick 30 yards from the Chesham goal, but Jamey Osborne shot well over.

The visitors needed to get back in the game early in the second half, but George Legg made a good save to keep out George Carline’s header from Jamey Osborne’s free kick. Just after the hour mark a Dave Pearce corner was headed back across goal by Nick Beasant, Kelvin Bossman got a touch on the ball but Veiga just kept it out at the expense of another corner. This time the ball was partly cleared to the edge of the area and George Fenton was blocked off by Will Richards as he went to challenge. It was a clear penalty which Dave Pearce converted in style to put Chesham 3-0 up. That killed the game as a contest but Redditch pushed for a consolation goal late on. On 79 minutes a Jamey Osborne shot came off Daniel Dubidat but George Legg saved low to his right, then an Osborne corner bounced around in the area but both Jamie Molyneux and Will Richards were denied. In the dying moments of the game Molyneux broke clear, but Ben Ford got in a challenge which allowed Nick Beasant time to get back and block the resulting shot.
