Alan Walker-Harris 1 Shane Gore After 17 days and four postponements Chesham finally got back into action, but the story was still the same as the team went down to their tenth away defeat of the season. The heavy pitch made good football difficult, but this was a largely uneventful game decided largely by defensive errors.

There were three change to the side that played the last league game at King’s Lynn three weeks ago, George Fenton returning after injury in place of Curtis Ujah who was suspended, Adam Martin was back in place of Matt Taylor and Kelvin Bossman started up front in place of Barry Hayles. The pitch was extremely heavy after overnight rain and had cut up even after the warm-up, but Chesham contributed to their own downfall by conceding after three minutes. The defence had chances to clear from their own area but Luke Holmes took advantage and controlled before netting from close range. However the home side handed out a gift of their own seven minutes later, when Sam Youngs crossed back in after a corner was cleared, keeper Alan Walker-Harris dropped the ball under no pressure and Joe Gater tapped in. There was virtually no goalmouth action in the rest of the half, Chesham’s best moment coming when Kelvin Bossman glanced a header goalwards but Walker-Harris saved comfortably. For the home side Neil Martin found space on the left but fired across the face of the goal, and Nathan Walker’s speculative shot flew over the bar, but otherwise there was little of note.

Early in the second half Ryan Blake went on a run down the right and Neil Martin got back to clear for a corner, but was seriously hurt in the incident and had to be stretchered off. However just after the hour mark Dorchester scored what proved to be the winner, when Charlie Davis’ right-wing corner was turned in from ten yards by Nathan Walker. Chesham were still looking to get forward but made little headway. Fifteen minutes from time Kelvin Bossman headed wide from Dave Pearce’s cross, then Ryan Blake set up Kelvin Bossman who controlled and shot but his effort was blocked. At the other end Matt Oldring headed wide from another Davis corner, but Dorchester were mainly content to sit on their lead and see out time.
