The Supporters Trust are relaunching the Budget Booster scheme for the 2017/2018 season, the scheme's aim is to boost the manager's playing budget via contributions from supporters. Any funds raised will be ring-fenced as additional to the agreed playing budget and won't be used to fund any other aspect of the running of the club. If you would like further information, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Brian McCarthy, Chairman commented.
"The Board of Chesham United is delighted with the news that the Supporters' Trust is looking to relaunch the Budget Booster scheme to help Danny and Jon for the season ahead. The club remains ambitious, both on and off the field, and having been fortunate enough to enjoy cup success over the past couple of seasons, it is important that we do not get carried away and risk the financial stability of the club by paying out more than we can afford.
However, we have a new playing budget formula in place that has been agreed with Danny and Jon and we believe that can put Chesham United in contention for promotion to National Conference South - Additional budget support from fans will be ring-fenced for the purpose of further boosting this budget and increasing the clubs chances of contesting at the right end of the table when we reach the real business end of the season.
As a Board we appreciate that not all supporters will be in a position to contribute, and we also appreciate that other supporters contribute to the running of the club in different ways. For the club to succeed it requires everyone to play their part and understand the role each and everyone of us has. The news that the Supporters' Trust is willing to help encourage fellow fans to supplement the playing budget is fantastic news, however large or small your contribution, a big thank you in advance from myself and fellow directors"
Speaking ahead of this season's "Meet The Manager & Board" evening, the First XI Management Team also commented.
"We are looking forward to meeting as many supporters as possible at the “Meet The Manager” Q & A event at the club on Monday evening. It will gives us chance to update you on how the new squad is coming together & answer any questions on the forthcoming season & our expectations.
You would have seen through the other social media channels players we have signed this week, Adam Watkins, Jai Dhillion, Callum Bunting, Oran Swales & we are close to finalising the final squad over the next few days.
We have also added to the Management Team with a Chesham fans favourite over the years, John Lawford agreeing to step up from the U18’s. John will be assisting us & spending valuable time on the training field with our Strikers over the coming season.
We have agreed a competitive budget with the Board & have introduced an incentive based bonus scheme this season, which we believe will give the squad an improved incentive to hit the targets we will be setting them.
Its great to hear the Supporters want to get involved with supporting the playing budget as well with the introduction of the “Budget Booster” scheme, which will help us to strengthen the size of the squad, which we will need without any reserves to call on this year. Thank you for this fantastic support.
Look forward to seeing you at the Q & A event or at any of the final preseason games."
Jon & Danny.
