Manager's Report - 20th December 2010

It looks as though the Hednesford game back in November was the last Southern League Premier Division game at the Meadow in 2010! The weather is restricting games and training at present, and without the chance to write Programme Notes, I thought I would just update you after a pretty successful 2010 for the club, both on and off the pitch. I think we can be proud of what we have achieved so far this year. A promotion achieved in style in May, with a committed, hard working and talented group of players who enjoy playing for the Club. They have not given us many disappointing days on the field in 2010, as we look to see if we can push on and maintain the progress we have made so far this season.

We will soon reach the half way point in the League campaign, and the League table will tell us what we need to do if we want to push on and stay competitive at the top end of the table. The players have committed to what we wanted to do since the summer, and the belief is in the squad that we can compete with anyone. It is an evenly matched League every week, with not much margin for error, but we are all enjoying the challenge after the hard work of last season. We need to replicate the type of form we showed after the festive break last year if we want to remain in the top half of the table, and I think we have the squad in place to do that.

All the teams within the Club are enjoying a good season. With a well run solvent club behind the scenes we have a sound financial platform on which to plan and progress in the future. Many thanks to those of you who have supported us in 2010.  Please continue your excellent support at home and away if you can, we really do value it. We hope to see you in good voice and numbers at Hemel on the 27th !

On behalf of the Management team and the players, I would like to wish all Chesham Supporters a happy healthy and prosperous 2011. We will endeavour to make sure 2011 is another year to remember in the history of the club. Enjoy the Festive break.

Andy
